The Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hybrid is expected to launch by the
end of 2025. It will be the company’s first car to feature an in-house
developed hybrid technology. The car will come with a 1.2-litre Z12E petrol
engine paired with an electric motor, capable of delivering an impressive 30–35
km/l mileage.
This smart hybrid system will be particularly efficient at
low speeds in city traffic. The Fronx Hybrid could be priced ₹2–2.5 lakh higher
than the current petrol variant, placing it in the ₹10–15 lakh range. A fresh
design, improved interiors, and additional features will further enhance its
appeal.
2. Mahindra XUV3XO Hybrid
Internally codenamed S226, the Mahindra XUV3XO Hybrid may
launch in 2026. It will be Mahindra’s first hybrid car, featuring a 1.2-litre
three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with a strong hybrid system. This SUV
is expected to deliver over 30 km/l mileage.
The design and features of the XUV3XO will be inspired by
the existing model, but the hybrid technology will make it both environmentally
friendly and economical. This car will be a perfect option for those who want a
balance between city commuting and long-distance driving.
3. Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid
The Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid is expected to enter the
Indian market by 2027. This popular hatchback will be equipped with a 1.2-litre
Z12E petrol engine paired with an HEV series hybrid system, offering an
impressive mileage of up to 35 km/l.
The new Swift may feature enhanced styling, an advanced
infotainment system, and safety features such as six airbags and ADAS
technology. With its affordable pricing and higher fuel efficiency, it is
likely to attract a large number of young buyers.
Together, these three new hybrid models from Maruti Suzuki
and Mahindra will offer the Indian market affordable and eco-friendly choices.
