Maruti to Launch 4 New SUVs with 35 Km Mileage & Hybrid Tech Under ₹10 Lakh

Maruti Suzuki enjoys a strong presence in the Indian automobile market. Known for their affordable, reliable, and long-lasting vehicles, the company is now gearing up to launch several new and exciting SUVs between 2025 and 2027, in response to the growing demand in the SUV segment. The upcoming lineup includes models like the Maruti e-Vitara and Maruti Fronx Hybrid. Let’s take a look at these upcoming SUVs:

Maruti e-Vitara

Maruti Suzuki's first fully electric SUV, the e-Vitara, is expected to launch in September 2025. It will be based on the HEARTECT-e skateboard platform, developed in collaboration with Toyota.

The SUV will be available with two battery options:

• 49kWh battery with a 144PS motor
• 61kWh battery with a 174PS motor

Both variants will produce 189Nm of torque and are expected to offer an MIDC range of over 500 kilometers.

Key features of the e-Vitara include:

• ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)
• 7 airbags
• 360-degree camera
• Panoramic sunroof

The e-Vitara will be manufactured at the Suzuki Motor Corporation plant in Gujarat and will be sold through Nexa dealerships.

Maruti Suzuki Escudo

The Maruti Suzuki Escudo will be a brand-new compact SUV, positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara in the lineup. It is expected to launch before Diwali 2025.

Built on the Global C platform, the Escudo will rival popular models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Honda Elevate.

The SUV will feature a 1.5-litre K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with mild-hybrid technology. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. In terms of safety, it is expected to offer 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, and possibly ADAS features

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara 7-Seater

The 7-seater version of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will compete in the midsize SUV segment against models like the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and MG Hector Plus. This new version will be longer than the existing 5-seater Grand Vitara and offer additional seating capacity.

While the design will be similar to the 5-seater model, it will come with a new front grille, redesigned rear, and new alloy wheels. Engine options will include 1.5-litre petrol engines with mild- and strong-hybrid setups, available in both FWD (Front-Wheel Drive) and AWD (All-Wheel Drive) configurations.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hybrid

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hybrid is expected to launch in 2026. This will be a hybrid version of the existing compact crossover Fronx and will be powered by a 1.2-litre Dual Jet engine combined with a smart hybrid system.

It is expected to deliver a mileage of around 35 km/litre, making it highly fuel-efficient. The Fronx Hybrid will compete with smaller SUVs like the Hyundai Venue and Tata Nexon.

Expected features include:

• 6 airbags
• Touchscreen infotainment system
• Automatic climate control
• 360-degree camera
• Sunroof

The starting ex-showroom price is expected to be under ₹10 lakh.
