Maruti Suzuki, considering the growing popularity of electric vehicles in the Indian market, is planning to launch multiple EVs. According to reports, the company may introduce four new EVs in the domestic market in the coming years. Among these four models, the Maruti e-Vitara will be the automaker's first offering. Let’s check out the details of all these models.
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara
The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara will be the automaker's first all-electric car in India. It is expected to launch next month. It will be offered with two battery pack options – 49 kWh and 61 kWh – claiming a range of over 500 km.

Talking about features, it will come equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.1-inch digital driver display, a 10-way powered driver seat, multi-color ambient lighting, a fixed glass roof, 7 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and Maruti’s first Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
Maruti Suzuki Small EV
Maruti Suzuki is expected to introduce an entry-level electric car in the Indian market, designed to compete with the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV. This entry-level EV is likely to be based on the eWX concept and is expected to launch in the second half of 2027.
Maruti Suzuki Electric MPV
The automaker may soon introduce a new electric MPV. Reportedly, the company plans to launch an all-new e-MPV in India by 2026. It will be based on the same e-HEARTECT platform that underpins the e-Vitara. This model is expected to compete with the upcoming Kia Carens EV in the market.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx EV
There are also reports that the company may launch a Fronx-sized electric SUV by 2030. It was earlier speculated that Suzuki is developing an electric off-roader that shares styling with the Jimny SUV. Since the ICE version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx is already popular in the Indian market, the company is reportedly working on a fully electric version of the Fronx crossover. It is being developed to rival the Tata Punch EV.
Note: The above information is based on media reports. Maruti Suzuki has not made any official announcements yet. However, considering the growing popularity of EVs in India, the company is expected to take this step.
