JSW MG Motor India has
commenced production of the Majestor SUV at its Halol manufacturing facility in
Gujarat. The Majestor is set to replace the Gloster as MG's flagship
combustion-powered offering in India, slotting into the premium body-on-frame
SUV segment.
Pre-bookings for the MG Majestor are open at Rs
41,000, with the SUV expected to be priced between ₹40 lakh and ₹45 lakh
(ex-showroom). The Majestor SUV will be offered in two trims - Sharp and Savvy
- and will go up against the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and Skoda Kodiaq.

Under the hood, the MG Majestor sports a 2.0-litre
twin-turbo diesel engine sourced from the higher-spec Gloster variants,
producing 215hp and 478.5Nm of torque. Drive goes through an 8-speed
torque-converter automatic gearbox to either a 2WD setup or a 4WD system
featuring low-range capability and three locking differentials. Terrain modes
for the MG Majestor 4WD include Snow, Rock, Sand, Mud, and Normal.
