PM Narendra Modi Cuts Down to Just Two Cars for Official Travel
By CarVaidyaPM Narendra Modi has reduced his convoy to just
two vehicles in a move aimed at promoting fuel conservation amid the ongoing
West Asia crisis. Several other state leaders have also adopted similar
measures to help the country reduce fuel consumption and conserve valuable foreign
exchange reserves.
The continuing crisis in West Asia has had a
significant impact across the globe, with many countries witnessing higher
crude oil prices and increased concerns over energy security. India, being one
of the world's largest importers of crude oil, is also facing challenges in
managing its energy reserves and maintaining foreign exchange stability.
One of the most popular SUVs in India, the
Toyota Fortuner continues to be the preferred escort vehicle in the Prime
Minister's convoy. It is powered by a robust 2.8-litre diesel engine and comes
with four-wheel-drive capability, paired with either a manual or automatic
transmission. Known for its durability and reliability, the Fortuner used in
the convoy is further upgraded with additional safety and communication
equipment. The SPG commandos will continue to ensure complete security for the
Prime Minister in accordance with the protocols outlined in the official Blue
Book, with no compromise on safety standards. Not only PM Modi, but Maharashtra
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was also seen riding a Royal Enfield
motorcycle to his office as part of the broader fuel conservation initiative.
