SUVs continue to dominate the Indian car market, and this trend was evident in the March 2024 sales report as well. Hyundai's best-selling car, the Creta, secured the top spot in its segment. Let’s take a look at which SUVs attract the most buyers.
Hyundai Creta
As mentioned, Hyundai Creta holds the first position on the list. This SUV gained a total of 18,059 new customers last month. This figure represents a 10% increase compared to the 16,458 units sold in March 2024.
Tata Punch
In second place is one of the most affordable SUVs in the country. Punch attracted 17,714 new customers last month. This marks a modest 1% increase compared to the 17,547 units sold in March 2024.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza
Maruti Brezza ranked third in terms of sales and also saw a rise in numbers. A total of 16,546 units were sold last month, which shows a 13% increase compared to the 14,614 units sold in March 2024.
Tata Nexon
In fourth place on the list is the Tata Nexon. This popular SUV attracted a total of 16,366 new customers last month. This figure shows a 16% increase compared to the 14,058 units sold in March 2024.
Mahindra Scorpio
Mahindra’s best-selling SUV saw a slight drop in sales. Last month, it attracted 13,913 new customers, reflecting a 9% decline compared to the 15,151 units sold in March 2024.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx
The Fronx ranked sixth in terms of sales and showed a slight increase. A total of 13,669 units were sold last month, which is a 9% rise from the 12,531 units sold in March 2024.
Hyundai Venue
Hyundai Venue secured the seventh position among the top 10 SUVs. This affordable SUV gained 10,441 new customers last month, indicating a 9% increase over the 9,614 units sold in March 2024.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
This popular hybrid SUV saw a slight decline in sales. It attracted 10,418 new customers last month, reflecting a 7% drop compared to the 11,232 units sold in March 2024.
Mahindra Thar
The Thar/Thar Roxx claimed the ninth spot in terms of sales and showed excellent growth. A total of 8,936 units were sold last month, a massive 48% increase compared to the 6,049 units sold in March 2024.
Kia Sonet
The Sonet also made it to the list of the top 10 SUVs in March 2025. It attracted 7,705 new customers last month, but this represents a 12% decline compared to the 8,750 units sold in March 2024.
