Upcoming Electric Cars 2026: Tata Sierra EV Tops the Exciting Lineup

Upcoming Electric Cars 2026

The demand for electric cars is continuously increasing in the Indian auto market. In the coming year, i.e., 2026, several new products will be introduced in this segment. This includes names like Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, Tata Sierra EV, and Mahindra XUV 3XO. Let’s take a look at these upcoming electric cars.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

Let’s start with the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara. This is Maruti’s first long-range electric SUV, which will be launched in January 2026. Its design is muscular and boxy, inspired by the Grand Vitara. It will come with two battery pack options — 49 kWh and 61 kWh — offering 426 km and 543 km of ARAI-claimed range, respectively.
It will have a front-wheel drive (FWD) setup, although a 4WD option is available in the global model. Key features include Level-2 ADAS, dual 10.25-inch screens, ventilated seats, and a 360-degree camera. It may also be offered with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, which could bring the starting price to under ₹15 lakh. Later, Toyota may also rebrand and sell this model.

Tata Sierra EV

The next model is the Tata Sierra EV, which may arrive in the first quarter of 2026. This is the electric version of the iconic Sierra, built on the Acti.ev platform. Its boxy design, split LED headlamps, and flush door handles will give it a retro-modern look. It will be offered in both RWD and AWD variants, enhancing its off-road capability.
The estimated range will be more than 500 km, and it is expected to be offered with a 60 kWh battery. A triple-screen dashboard, advanced ADAS, and connected car technology will be part of the feature list. The price is expected to fall between ₹15–20 lakh. Currently, it has already been launched in the market with an ICE version.

Mahindra XUV 3XO EV

The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV will make a strong impact in the sub-4-metre segment and is expected to launch by August 2026. It will replace the current XUV400 and will come with 34.5 kWh and 39.4 kWh battery pack options. The estimated range is expected to be 375–456 km.
The design will remain similar to the ICE model, but with a new LED grille and alloy wheels, giving it a more premium look. On the inside, it will feature dual digital screens, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, Level-2 ADAS, and a 360-degree camera. The single electric motor will generate 150 hp of power. The expected price is ₹15–18 lakh, and it will directly compete with the Tata Nexon EV in the market.
