2025 Renault Triber vs Maruti Ertiga: Best Budget 7-Seater for Families?
By CarVaidyaRenault has
recently launched the new avatar of the Triber. In the Indian market, the 2025
Renault Triber directly competes with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Both vehicles are designed for large
families, but they closely rival each other in terms of price, features,
safety, engine performance, and fuel efficiency. Let’s compare these two cars and find out which
one is the best choice for a middle-class family.
The starting
ex-showroom price of the Renault Triber is ₹6.30 lakh and goes up to ₹9.17
lakh. This makes it the most affordable 7-seater MPV in India. It is available
in four variants: Authentic, Evolution, Techno, and Emotion.
The Maruti
Suzuki Ertiga starts at ₹8.97 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to ₹13.26 lakh for
the top model. In terms of pricing, the Triber is a more budget-friendly
option, which makes it popular among cost-conscious buyers.
The 2025 Triber
facelift features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital
instrument cluster, a wireless charger, a driver armrest, power-folding ORVMs, and
a traffic sign recognition camera. Additionally, it offers the flexibility of
removable third-row seats.
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is also equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, automatic climate control, cruise control, and rear parking sensors. However, while its design and interior might feel slightly less premium compared to the new Triber, the Ertiga offers more space overall.
The Renault
Triber is packed with 21 standard safety features, including 6
airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, traction control, a tyre
pressure monitoring system, and hill start assist. The outgoing
model had received a 4-star Global NCAP rating, although the facelift
version is yet to be crash-tested.
The Maruti
Suzuki Ertiga is now also equipped with 6 airbags, ISOFIX child-seat
mounts, ABS, EBD, ESP, hill assist, and a rear
middle three-point seatbelt. Overall, both MPVs are well-equipped in terms
of safety.
The Triber
is powered by a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 71
bhp and 96 Nm of torque. It comes with either a 5-speed manual
or AMT transmission. This engine performs well in city driving, but
feels slightly underpowered for highway overtaking. A dealer-fitted CNG kit
is also available.
The Ertiga
is powered by a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine that produces 103
PS and 137 Nm of torque. It is offered with 5-speed manual or
6-speed automatic transmission options. There's also a 1.5-litre CNG
variant that delivers 88 PS and 121 Nm of torque. Compared to the Triber, Ertiga's engine is more powerful and refined.
In terms of mileage
This makes the
Ertiga one of the most fuel-efficient MPVs in the segment.
