The first month
of the financial year 2024-25 has been quite average for the Indian car market.
On one hand, Maruti Suzuki and
Mahindra recorded growth in their sales, while on the other, Tata Motors
and Hyundai witnessed a decline. Let’s take a look at the top 5 companies from
last month.
Maruti Suzuki: As always, Maruti Suzuki remained the
top car-selling company in the country last month. In April 2025, it sold a

growth of 0.5% compared to the 1,37,952 units sold in April 2024.

country’s popular SUV manufacturer. Mahindra gained a total of 52,330 new

electric cars like the Mahindra BE6 and XEV 9e.

the third position but witnessed a slight decline. The company sold a total of
45,199 new vehicles last month, which is 6% lower compared to the 47,883 units
