Ferrari Luce Debuts In India At Universo Ferrari
By CarVaidyaThe Ferrari Luce, the
Maranello-based marque's first all-electric model, was unveiled in India on
October 17 at the Universo Ferrari exhibition at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi.
Ferrari has not announced India pricing or a launch date. In Europe, the Luce (light in Italian) is priced
at €550,000. Ferrari has dealerships in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, with new
showrooms planned in Ahmedabad and Chennai.
The fifth edition of Universo Ferrari runs in New
Delhi until November 1, 2026, with invite-only previews on October 17 and 18
and public entry from October 19. It is the first time the exhibition has come
to India, following editions in Italy, Australia, South Korea and Thailand.
Besides the Ferrari Luce, the F80 and 12Cilindri Manuale make their India
debuts at the show. The 849 Testarossa, Purosangue and Amalfi Spider are also
on display, along with Classiche heritage cars and race-spec Ferraris in a
Racing Area. Hypersail, Ferrari's first sailing project, is displayed in Asia
for the first time. It was developed for a non-stop, round-the-world sailing
speed record attempt.
The
Ferrari Luce is powered by four electric motors with a peak output of 1,035bhp
in Launch Control mode, along with 990Nm of peak torque. The front motors spin
up to 30,000rpm, while the larger rear motors top out at 25,000rpm. The claimed
0-100km/h time for the Luce is 2.5 seconds, with the 0-200km/h taking just 6.8
seconds. A Vehicle Control Unit links the powertrain and vehicle dynamics
systems and updates its inputs 200 times per second.
The Luce's 122kWh battery pack was developed
in-house at Maranello and runs on an 800V architecture. DC fast charging goes
up to 350kW, and 70kWh can be added in about 20 minutes. The Ferrari Luce's
claimed range is over 530km on the WLTP range. The Luce also gets electrically
controlled active suspension, four-wheel steering and the Side Slip Control X
dynamics system. The bespoke electric platform accommodates four
doors and five seats.
At 5,026mm in length, the Ferrari Luce is the
largest Ferrari to date, weighing around 2,300kg. LoveFrom, founded by Jony Ive
and Marc Newson, designed it with the Ferrari Styling Centre. The liftback has
a glass-heavy silhouette, floating front and rear wings and rear-hinged rear
doors. Ferrari says it has the lowest drag coefficient of any road-going
Ferrari. The cabin combines physical buttons, toggles and dials machined from
solid metal with a 10-inch touchscreen and a 12.5-inch OLED instrument cluster
that has a physical needle. The steering wheel is machined from recycled
aluminium.
The Ferrari Luce key is made of Corning Fusion5
glass with an E Ink display, and docking it on the centre console switches its
colour from yellow to black and lights up the displays. A 21-speaker, 3,000W
audio system is also fitted to Maranello's first EV.
