Global NCAP 5-Star Rated Cars of 2024 Under ₹8 Lakh

Tata Nexon

The Nexon facelift has been awarded 5-star ratings by Global NCAP under the updated adult and child safety protocol. In terms of safety, it comes with standard features like 6 airbags, ESC with EBD, and a 360-degree camera. The starting ex-showroom price of the Nexon EV is just ₹8 lakh, which may increase slightly in 2025. Tata Nexon is offered with two engine options: a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol and a 1.5-liter diesel. The petrol engine generates 118 bhp of power and 170 Nm of torque, while the diesel engine produces 113 bhp of power and 260 Nm of torque. It is available with multiple gearbox options, including a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT, and 7-speed DCT.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire

Global NCAP has awarded The recently launched Dzire a 5-star safety rating, making it the first and only car from Maruti to achieve this. It comes equipped with standard safety features such as 6 airbags, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, three-point seat belts, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. The new Dzire is powered by the latest Z-series 1.2-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine. This engine generates 80.46 bhp of power and 111.7 Nm of peak torque on petrol, while its output on CNG is 68.8 bhp and 101.8 Nm. The petrol variant of the Dzire is available with a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options.
