Hyundai and Kia, two Korean car companies, are strengthening their
position in India. They have several products ranging from entry-level to
premium segments and are planning to launch many new and exciting models
between 2025 and 2027. These include the Kia Seltos Hybrid, the new Hyundai Venue, Kia Syros EV, and an electric car based on the Hyundai Inster. These
vehicles will not only be equipped with modern technology and design but will also
be available with eco-friendly hybrid and electric options. Let’s take a look
at the details revealed so far about these models.
Kia Seltos Hybrid
The next-generation Kia Seltos Hybrid model is expected to launch in India in
2026, featuring a hybrid powertrain as a major highlight. It will come with a
1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine combined with an electric motor, capable
of producing around 141 hp. This hybrid system can offer a mileage of
approximately 25-30 km/l.
Additionally, the existing 1.5L petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol, and 1.5L diesel
engine options will remain available. The new Seltos will showcase Kia’s new
design language, including vertical LED DRLs, a larger grille, and connected
LED tail lamps. The interior will feature a 30-inch Trinity display, ventilated
seats, and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Its price is
expected to be between ₹15-20 lakh.
2025 Hyundai Venue
The next-generation
Hyundai Venue is expected to launch in October 2025. This
compact SUV will retain its boxy design but will get a new front and rear
design inspired by the Creta and Alcazar. Its starting ex-showroom price will
likely be under ₹10 lakh.
The interior will have a new dashboard, ventilated front and rear seats, a
360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS features. Current engine options—1.2L
petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol, and 1.5L diesel—will continue. Additionally, the
Venue EV might be launched between 2026 and 2027.
The Hyundai Inster EV, codenamed HE1i, is under development and is expected to
launch in the Indian market in 2026. It will be based on the E-GMP (K) platform
and will offer 42 kWh and 49 kWh NMC battery packs, providing a range of
approximately 300 km and 355 km, respectively.
Its design will be compact, featuring circular LED DRLs, pixel-graphic turn
signals, and 15-17 inch wheels. The interior will include dual 10.25-inch
displays, wireless charging, and ADAS features.
Kia Syros EV
The
Kia Syros EV is also expected to launch in the first quarter of 2026. It
will be based on the same K1 platform as the Hyundai Ioniq EV. The Syros EV
will come with 42 kWh and 49 kWh battery packs, offering a range of 300 to 355
km.
Its design will be inspired by Kia’s new EV design language, featuring
aero-optimized wheels and EV-specific badging. The interior will include a
30-inch Trinity display along with premium features.
