Hyundai Sub-4m EV Spotted With New Infotainment
By CarVaidya- 09 Sep 2026
Hyundai’s upcoming sub-4-metre electric SUV has been spotted again during testing, and the latest spy images provide a clearer look at its cabin. The upcoming EV, internally reported as HE1i, appears to feature Hyundai’s new-generation Pleos Connect infotainment system, making it one of the more technology-focused offerings in the upcoming mass-market EV space. The new electric SUV is part of Hyundai India’s plan to introduce multiple new and updated models by 2030. Hyundai has also confirmed that the model will feature Level 2 ADAS, raising the technology benchmark in the sub-4-metre EV segment.
New Hyundai EV Gets Pleos Connect Infotainment
The latest interior spy shots reveal a new digital display setup. The vehicle appears to feature Hyundai’s Pleos Connect infotainment technology, along with a separate digital instrument display positioned in front of the driver. Reports indicate that the Pleos Connect system is Hyundai’s next-generation connected infotainment platform, designed to support connected-car functions, AI-based voice interaction, and over-the-air updates. The latest test vehicle also appears to feature sequential turn indicators, adding a more premium touch to the compact electric SUV.
Level 2 ADAS To Be A Major Highlight
Hyundai has officially confirmed Level 2 ADAS for the upcoming sub-4-metre EV. Spy shots have already shown a camera positioned around the windshield area, suggesting the presence of advanced driver-assistance functions. The expected safety and assistance package could include features such as lane-keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, and other driver-monitoring or collision-avoidance functions. However, Hyundai has not yet revealed the complete ADAS feature list. A 360-degree camera and other advanced safety equipment are also expected on higher variants.
Expected Battery And Range
Hyundai has not officially announced the final battery specifications of the new EV. However, reports suggest that the electric SUV could be offered with battery packs in the 42kWh and 51kWh range. The larger battery could offer a claimed range of up to around 500 km, although the final ARAI-certified figure is still awaited. Earlier reports have also suggested battery capacities around 42–49kWh and a range of approximately 300–400 km, indicating that specifications may vary by version. Hyundai is reportedly considering NMC-based battery technology for the mass-market model, while LFP chemistry could be reserved for higher-end applications. The company has also discussed both pouch and prismatic cell formats for its future EV batteries.
Hyundai Sub-4-Metre EV: Expected Features
Based on spy shots and current reports, the upcoming EV could offer:
- Pleos Connect infotainment system
- Digital instrument cluster
- Large central infotainment display
- Level 2 ADAS
- 360-degree camera
- Connected-car technology
- Automatic climate control
- Panoramic glass roof
- Ventilated seats
- V2L/V2V functionality
- Sequential turn indicators
- Multiple battery options
Some of these features remain expected rather than officially confirmed, so Hyundai is likely to reveal the complete equipment list closer to launch.
Expected Launch And Rivals
The new Hyundai electric SUV is expected to launch in India by late 2026 or in early 2027, although the exact launch date has not been announced. Hyundai has confirmed that the model will be designed for India and heavily localised. Once launched, it is expected to compete with electric SUVs such as the Tata Punch EV, while the wider compact EV space will also include upcoming models from Hyundai-Kia and other manufacturers.
The upcoming Hyundai sub-4-metre EV could become an important model for the brand because it combines a compact SUV footprint with advanced infotainment, Level 2 ADAS and electric powertrain technology. The latest spy shots suggest Hyundai is aiming to offer a more premium cabin experience even in a relatively affordable EV. With the new Pleos Connect system and expected long-range battery options, the model could become a strong contender in India's rapidly growing compact electric SUV market.
