Kia Sonet Gets Much Cheaper After GST 2.0
After the
implementation of GST 2.0, the GST on the Kia Sonet has been reduced from 28%
(plus cess) to a flat 18%, since this SUV is under 4 meters in length. As a
result, the new Kia Sonet is now available at just ₹7,30,138 (ex-showroom).
Earlier, its starting ex-showroom price was around ₹8 lakh.
Interior and Comfort
The
interior of the Kia Sonet is modern and premium, catering well to the needs of
a middle-class family. The dashboard features a user-friendly design and comes
equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports
wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Additional
features include a 10.25-inch digital driver display, a 7-speaker Bose sound
system, ventilated front seats, an electric sunroof, and a smart pure air
purifier. The black and beige semi-leatherette seats and rear AC vents provide
a comfortable experience for passengers. With 392 liters of boot space, there's
ample room for luggage.
Safety Features
The Kia Sonet comes equipped with 25 safety features. It includes Level-1
ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) with functions like Front
Collision Warning, Lane Keep Assist, and High Beam Assist. In
addition, it offers 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, Electronic
Stability Control (ESC), Hill-Start Assist, and a Tire Pressure
Monitoring System (TPMS) among 15 standard safety features.
Engine and Performance
The Kia Sonet is available with three engine options:
- 1.2-liter petrol engine – delivers 83 PS power
and 115 Nm torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
- 1.0-liter turbo-petrol
engine –
produces 120 PS power and 172 Nm torque, available with a 6-speed
iMT or a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission).
- 1.5-liter diesel engine – generates 116 PS power
and 250 Nm torque, offered with 6-speed manual, iMT,
or 6-speed automatic transmission.
Mileage
The fuel
efficiency of the Sonet depends on the engine and transmission configuration:
- 1.2L petrol: Up to 18.4 km/l
- 1.0L turbo-petrol: Around 18–19 km/l
- 1.5L diesel: Between 22–24.1 km/l
