By CarVaidyaTata Motors is all set to bring back its iconic Sierra in a brand-new avatar on November 25, 2025, in India. The upcoming model will blend nostalgic design cues from the original 1991 Sierra with modern technology and advanced features. Positioned between the Tata Curvv and Harrier in the company’s SUV lineup, the new Sierra will mark Tata’s strong entry into the mid-size SUV segment.
The design follows a retro-cool theme, featuring a high-set bonnet, squared-off wheel arches, and muscular rear haunches that emphasize its rugged character.
At the front, the SUV gets split LED headlamps, a full-width LED DRL bar, gloss-black grille, and silver skid plate that add to its tough appearance.
The side profile showcases flush door handles, chunky cladding, a strong shoulder line, and roof rails, while the rear features connected LED taillamps, a flat tailgate, and a large roof spoiler for a sporty touch.
The signature quarter-glass panel is a nostalgic element that pays tribute to the original Sierra, giving it a unique identity.
The cabin of the new Tata Sierra is expected to be premium, futuristic, and tech-loaded, built around a 5-seater layout.
It gets an all-black dual-tone interior theme with soft-touch materials and ambient lighting for a luxurious feel.
The highlight is the triple-screen setup — including a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a central infotainment touchscreen, and a passenger-side display — all integrated under a single glass panel.
Other modern touches include a gloss-black steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, body-colored dashboard inserts, and a minimalist center console with touch-based controls.
The new Sierra will come equipped with several premium and smart features, including:
Panoramic sunroof
Dual-zone climate control
Powered and ventilated front seats
Ambient lighting
Wireless phone charger
Premium sound system
Connected car technology with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay
360-degree camera and push-button start
It will also offer multiple drive modes for off-road adventures and a passenger entertainment display to enhance long-drive experiences.
Tata Motors is prioritizing safety with the new Sierra, offering features like:
6–7 airbags
360-degree camera
Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
Hill-hold assist
Electronic parking brake with auto-hold
Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)
An ADAS module integrated into the front bumper will help enhance crash avoidance capabilities. Known for its 5-star Global NCAP safety ratings, Tata’s build quality will likely make the Sierra one of the safest family SUVs in its class.
The ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) versions of the Sierra are expected to include:
1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 170 PS and 280 Nm
2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine delivering 168 bhp and 350 Nm
Both engines will be available with 6-speed manual, 7-speed DCT, or 6-speed automatic gearboxes.A lower-spec 1.5-litre diesel (118 PS, 260 Nm) variant might also be offered.
The electric variant will be based on Tata’s acti.ev platform, featuring a dual-motor AWD setup, a 69 kWh battery pack, and an estimated range of 420–500 km. It promises a balanced blend of eco-friendly driving and powerful performance.
