Mahindra has started to establish a strong foothold in the Indian EV market with the BE 6 and XUV 9e. These two electric cars have significantly boosted the company’s sales, with over 30,000 customers showing interest just last month. Let’s take a look at these two electric SUVs.
High Demand for BE 6 and XUV 9e
Mahindra’s entry into the EV segment has been impressive, with both SUVs receiving a total of 30,179 bookings in just one day. The company has also announced that over 3,000 units have already been delivered within a month. However, deliveries for the entry-level Pack One and Pack One Above trims are scheduled to begin in August 2025.
What’s Special About the Mahindra XUV 9e
This premium EV comes with advanced features such as a two-spoke steering wheel with infotainment controls, a head-up display, 360-degree camera, USB-C charging ports, ambient lighting, standard 7 airbags, driver alertness system, Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and blind spot monitoring.
Key Highlights of the Mahindra BE 6
Inside, it features a fighter jet-inspired interior design, a two-spoke steering wheel, automatic climate control, head-up display, 360-degree camera, standard 7 airbags, driver alertness system, radar and multiple cameras for Level 2 ADAS.
Both these EVs showcase Mahindra’s ambition and capability in the electric mobility space with premium features and futuristic designs.
Battery and Range
Both the Mahindra BE 6 and XUV 9e electric SUVs are offered with two battery pack options — a 59 kWh pack and a larger 79 kWh pack. The larger battery pack is available only with the top-end Pack Three variants of both EVs, while all other variants come with the 59 kWh battery pack.
Mahindra claims that the BE 6 will deliver a range of 535 km with the smaller battery and 682 km with the larger battery. On the other hand, the XUV 9e is claimed to offer a 542 km range with the smaller battery and 656 km with the larger battery. Using a fast charger, these EVs can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
Price
- The XUV 9e range starts at ₹21.90 lakh for the base Pack One variant and goes up to ₹30.50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec Pack Three variant.
- The BE 6 is priced more affordably, starting at ₹18.90 lakh for the Pack One base variant and going up to ₹26.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Pack Three top-end variant.
