Mahindra introduced four new SUV concepts—Vision S, Vision
X, Vision T, and Vision SXT—at its Freedom_NU event on the 79th Independence
Day. Among these, the Vision S concept has particularly captured attention.
It's believed that the next-generation Mahindra Bolero might
draw inspiration for its design and features from this concept. This concept
not only showcases Mahindra's future design direction but also demonstrates the
versatility of the company's new 'Freedom NU' platform.
Design Details
The Mahindra Vision S Concept features a robust and modern
design that retains the traditional Bolero's boxy silhouette, while
incorporating futuristic elements. The front fascia of the concept includes
Mahindra's signature twin peaks logo, surrounded by vertically stacked LED
lights. The new L-shaped design of the headlamps gives it an appealing and
modern look. Additionally, the roof-mounted lights, a rugged-looking bumper,
and large wheel arches with plastic cladding on the sides make it an
off-road-capable vehicle.
The Vision concept incorporates modern elements such as
flush door handles, slim outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), and newly designed
alloy wheels. Its golden-yellow and black dual-tone finish gives it a premium
and bold look. Features like side steps and roof rails present it as a vehicle
ready for adventure activities. This design is not only stylish but also
maintains the Bolero's robust and durable image.
New Freedom NU Platform
The Vision S concept is based on Mahindra's new 'Freedom NU'
platform, also known as the New Flexible Architecture (NFA). This modular
monocoque platform supports various powertrain options, including petrol,
diesel, hybrid, and electric.
Potential Features in the New Bolero
Mahindra has not yet clarified whether the Vision S is
directly the concept version of the new Bolero. However, experts believe that
many of its design elements could be incorporated into the next-generation
Bolero, which is expected to launch in 2026. Recent spy shots of the new Bolero
prototype show a vertical slat grille, circular LED headlamps, and a clamshell
bonnet, which align with the Vision S design. The new Bolero could also feature
a modern touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument cluster,
dual-zone climate control, and Level-2 ADAS.
