Mahindra XUV 7XO Scores 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating
By CarVaidyaThe
Mahindra XUV 7XO has scored a five-star Bharat NCAP rating for both adult and
child occupant protection, with 30.76 out of 32 points in the adult test and
44.97 out of 49 in the child assessment.
Testing was carried out in July 2026 on the
AX7 diesel seven-seat automatic and the AX7L diesel 4WD seven-seat automatic
variants of the XUV 7XO. The rating applies across the range, covering petrol
and diesel variants in manual and automatic guises.
Six airbags are standard across the SUV, along
with electronic stability control, traction control, hill-hold and hill-descent
assist, ISOFIX anchorages on the outboard rear seats and seat belt reminders
for every seating position. Side head curtain airbags, pedestrian protection,
and belt pretensioners with load limiters for the driver and front passenger
are also fitted as standard. A driver knee airbag is offered as an option
rather than standard equipment, while higher variants add a 360-degree camera,
Level 2 ADAS and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The pre-facelift XUV700 was crash-tested by
Global NCAP in 2021, where it took five stars for adult occupant protection and
four stars for child occupant protection.
