Mahindra’s New Family SUV Gets 10 Premium Features

Mahindra is set to launch the facelifted version of its popular XUV700 SUV, called the XUV 7XO, in India on 5 January 2026. The new model is expected to receive several upgrades in design, technology, and luxury features. With these updates, the Mahindra XUV 7XO will become a more comfortable and premium SUV than before.
In this article, we highlight 10 impressive features of the XUV 7XO that make it a step ahead of the current XUV700.

1. Triple-Screen Display Setup

The Mahindra XUV700 currently offers dual 10.25-inch screens, but the XUV 7XO will come with a triple 10.25-inch screen setup. This includes a digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system, and a passenger-side display. This setup will significantly enhance both the driving experience and in-car entertainment.

2. Powered Co-Driver Seat with Boss Mode

In the XUV700, only the driver's seat is electrically adjustable. However, the XUV 7XO will also get a powered co-driver seat. With the Boss Mode function, second-row passengers can easily move the front passenger seat forward, creating extra legroom and improving rear-seat comfort.

3. 16-Speaker Harman Kardon Sound System

The current XUV700 comes with a 12-speaker Sony audio system. In contrast, the XUV 7XO will feature a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, similar to what is offered in the Mahindra XEV 9e and XEV 9S. This upgrade promises a richer and more immersive audio experience.

4. BYOD Tablet Dock with Type-C Charging

For second-row passengers, the XUV 7XO will offer a special BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) tablet holder. It will also include a dedicated Type-C charging port, making long journeys more entertaining and convenient—especially for kids and family members.

5. Multi-Color Ambient Lighting

To make the cabin feel more premium, the Mahindra XUV 7XO will get multi-color ambient lighting, similar to the XEV 9S. This feature is perfect for setting the mood during night drives and enhances the overall luxury feel of the interior.

6. Sliding Second-Row Seats

This feature is missing in the current XUV700, but the XUV 7XO is expected to offer sliding second-row seats. It will improve cabin flexibility and practicality, especially for families who need adjustable legroom and luggage space.

7. Ventilated Second-Row Seats

For better comfort during hot weather, the XUV 7XO will offer ventilated seats for second-row passengers, borrowed from the XEV 9S. In the current XUV700, this feature is limited to the front seats only.

8. Electric Tailgate

An electric tailgate is a premium SUV feature, and it will be available on the XUV 7XO as well. With hands-free access, loading and unloading luggage will become much easier and more convenient.

9. 540-Degree Surround Camera

The Mahindra XUV 7XO will upgrade the standard 360-degree camera to a 540-degree surround camera system, which also shows a view beneath the vehicle. This will be extremely helpful during parking and low-speed maneuvering.

10. Upgraded Level 2+ ADAS

The XUV 7XO will come with enhanced Level 2+ ADAS features, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency braking. These systems will be more refined compared to the current XUV700, offering improved safety and driving confidence.

Mahindra XUV 7XO Launch Details and Expected Price

The world premiere of the Mahindra XUV 7XO is scheduled for 5 January 2026. Bookings have already started with a token amount of ₹21,000. The XUV 7XO will compete with SUVs like the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus.
If you are planning to buy a family SUV, the XUV 7XO is worth waiting for. Its expected starting price could be around ₹15 lakh (ex-showroom).
