Mini Cooper Oxford Edition Pre-Bookings Open
By CarVaidyaMini India has opened
pre-bookings for the Mini Cooper Oxford Edition, a limited-run version of the
three-door hatchback. It arrives as a Cooper S, and pricing has not been
announced yet. You can pre-book the Mini Cooper Oxford Edition at any
Mini sales touchpoint. Mini launched the Cooper S GP Inspired Edition, another
limited-run model, in May at Rs 58.90 lakh.
The 2.0-litre four-cylinder direct-injection
turbo-petrol engine makes 204hp and 300Nm, the same output as the standard
Cooper S. Power goes to the front wheels through a seven-speed DCT. Mini claims
0-100km/h in 6.6 seconds and a mileage of 16.82km/l.
The Mini Cooper Oxford Edition pays tribute to Oxford,
where the original Mini was first built in 1959 and where BMW Group has
produced the modern Mini since 2001. Union Jack elements run through the
exterior and the cabin.
The Oxford Edition is offered in Indigo Sunset
Blue or Chilli Red, with Glazed White outside mirrors. Union Jack-inspired
stripes run across the bonnet and tailgate, and a Union Jack sticker sits on
the roof.
A crossed Union Jack and chequered-flag sticker marks the boot lid. The 18-inch dual-tone alloys carry blue and red centre caps and Union Jack valve caps. Circular LED headlamps, the octagonal grille with segmented strips, S badging, and LED tail-lamps with Union Jack signatures are carried over from the standard model.
Inside, the Mini Cooper Oxford Edition has JCW
Sport-spec seats in black upholstery and a grey-and-beige fabric trim. The
dashboard is largely similar to the standard model's. Union Jack details appear
on the floor mats, steering wheel rim, infotainment display, and key fob. The
door sills carry 'Oxford' lettering in blue and red. A 9.4-inch infotainment
system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic glass roof, a Harman
Kardon sound system, auto AC, a wireless phone charger, and a heated steering
wheel are on the equipment list. The front seats are powered, and the driver's
seat adds memory and massage functions. On-board navigation, connected car tech
and OTA updates are also included. The safety kit covers Level 1 ADAS, dual
airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, a tyre-pressure
monitoring system and an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror.
