Hyundai is preparing to introduce its popular sub-4 meter SUV, the Hyundai Exter, in a new avatar. According to reports, the 2026 Hyundai Exter Facelift could be launched in March 2026. Recently, spy images of the facelift model surfaced during testing, clearly indicating that the new Exter will receive several noticeable updates. Let’s take a look at the expected design changes, specifications, and possible pricing.

What Will Change in the Hyundai Exter Facelift 2026?

The Hyundai Exter Facelift will not be an all-new model but a mid-life update. Although the test mule was seen heavily camouflaged, which limits visible details, reports suggest that the changes will be mild and cosmetic rather than drastic.
Updates are expected on the front bumper and grille. The headlamps and DRL setup may get a refreshed design, and the alloy wheels could feature a new pattern.

Interior and Features

The cabin layout of the 2026 Hyundai Exter Facelift is likely to remain largely unchanged. However, it may get a larger and more responsive touchscreen infotainment system. Other expected updates include an updated digital instrument cluster, connected car technology, USB-C charging ports, improved seat fabric, new color options, and features like a panoramic sunroof.

Engine and Performance

No major changes are expected in the engine lineup of the Hyundai Exter Facelift. It is likely to continue with the existing 1.2-litre petrol engine, along with a CNG variant as before. Transmission options may include a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox.
However, considering the growing demand for turbo engines in the segment, there is speculation that Hyundai might introduce a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine in the Exter.

Launch Timeline and Rivals

The 2026 Hyundai Exter Facelift is expected to launch in March 2026. In the Indian market, it will compete with the Tata Punch and Nissan Magnite. Due to updated features, a slight price increase is likely. As per reports, the new Hyundai Exter could start at an ex-showroom price of around ₹6 lakh.
