JSW MG Motor India has launched its most popular SUVs, the Hector and Hector Plus, in the Indian market in a new avatar. Their starting ex-showroom price has been set at ₹13.99 lakh, and they will now be offered across all variant options exclusively with an E20-compliant engine.
Design Details
Apart from fitting the new models with an E20-compliant engine, no other changes have been made. The Hector and Hector Plus sport a large, bold front end featuring a chrome-studded diamond-mesh grille, vertically stacked LED headlights, and LED DRLs.
Side Profile
Sharp shoulder lines are accentuated by silver body cladding and roof rails. The company offers them 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
Rear Design
The SUVs get connected LED taillights and a sleek silver trim at the back.
Interior & Features
Hector’s cabin is very advanced. MG equips it with a portrait-style 14-inch infotainment system, 70 connected-car features, internet connectivity, an ADAS suite with autonomous functions, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and six airbags, among many other amenities.
Engine and Performance
MG Hector and Hector Plus have two engine options: a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel unit. The petrol powertrain produces 143 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque, while the diesel unit delivers 170 PS and 350 Nm. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. Although the Hector is an excellent SUV, some customers have raised concerns about its fuel efficiency.
