Nissan Juke EV Unveiled For Europe; Spring 2027 Launch
By CarVaidyaJapanese carmaker
Nissan has unveiled the all-electric, third-generation Juke at its Vision Event
at the company's headquarters in Japan. The new Nissan Juke EV is scheduled to
launch in spring 2027 and will be the first version of the SUV to go down the
pure EV path.
Since its original launch in 2010, the Nissan Juke has found 1.5 million buyers across Europe, making this electrification a
significant step for the nameplate. The new Juke will join the Micra,
third-generation Leaf, Ariya crossover and the Townstar LCV as part of Nissan's
growing European EV lineup.
"Europe is central to Nissan's
electrification strategy, and we remain firmly committed to a fully electric
future," said Massimiliano Messina, Chairman, Nissan AMIEO. "With a
rapidly expanding EV line-up, we are bringing greater choice and innovation to
every segment, powered by our strong design, engineering, and manufacturing
footprint in the region. Together, this next generation of vehicles will
accelerate our transition to zero-emission mobility.
Nissan describes the surface treatment as "bold, multifaceted and polygonal," with the faceted theme carried across every body panel, wheel arch, bumper, and light cluster. It also features a distinct light signature at both the front and rear. "JUKE has always stood for bold design and a willingness to challenge convention. With this third generation, we are bringing that spirit into the electric age," said Clíodhna Lyons, Region Vice President, Product, Brand & Marketing Strategy, Nissan AMIEO. "As our first fully electric JUKE, it will help us reach new customers while expanding choice across our electrified range."
The new Juke is built on the CMF-EV platform and shares much of its underpinnings with the Leaf, alongside which it will be produced at Nissan's Sunderland factory in the UK. Two liquid-cooled battery options are expected: 52 kWh and 75kWh, mirroring the Leaf's setup. Nissan has not confirmed range or power figures yet, with full technical details expected closer to launch.
The Juke EV will offer Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G)
capability, allowing it to send stored energy back to the grid. The interior is
expected to use the Leaf's Google-based infotainment system, though Nissan has
not officially confirmed cabin details. A dual 14.3-inch screen setup for the
driver cluster and central infotainment is anticipated, based on the current
Leaf's layout.
