The Tata Punch EV has been a popular electric SUV in the
Indian market for years, suitable for both city and highway use. The company
has recently introduced the Punch EV in a new avatar, featuring an updated
design and a larger battery pack. Tata claims that its extended driving range
and fast-charging capability make it more convenient and economical for daily
use. We recently drove the new 2026 Tata Punch EV and bring you a detailed
review.
Design and Exterior
The new Tata Punch EV retains a bold and SUV-inspired design
similar to its petrol counterpart. At the front, it gets a redesigned bumper
and a fully closed grille, giving it a clean electric SUV appearance. Grey body
cladding all around and dual-tone color options enhance its “spo-SUV”
styling. The large Tata logo at the front conceals the charging port, which now
features a bigger push-open flap, making it easier to plug in the charger. The
car comes with LED DRLs integrated with turn indicators. A front camera is
provided for the 360-degree camera setup. Lower down, it gets LED projector
headlamps and ice-cube-style fog lamps. From the side, the Punch EV features
16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, adding to its strong road
presence.
Interior and Comfort
The cabin of the Punch EV features a dual-tone theme, making
it look modern and appealing. Here are some key highlights:
- The seats come with soft cushioning and
leatherette upholstery.
- Two adults can sit comfortably in the rear, but
space for three passengers may feel slightly tight.
- Rear passengers get a 15W Type-C charging port
and a phone holder.
- There are no rear AC vents, but the “Express
Cooling” feature quickly cools the cabin.
- The front seats are ventilated, and the high
driving position offers excellent road visibility.

It also offers apps like Netflix and YouTube, though video
playback automatically stops while driving for safety reasons.

If you are looking for a strong, feature-loaded, and safe
electric SUV for daily city commuting, the Tata Punch EV can be a good option.
It offers a practical driving range, fast-charging support, large screens, and
advanced features. The car is comfortable for four passengers and performs well
in urban traffic conditions.
