Tata Motors' Most Awaited Sierra SUV is Soon to Enter the
Indian Market. According to a report by CarWale, the company has officially
confirmed that it will launch the new 'Sierra' SUV in FY2026. The Tata
Sierra will first be introduced in an electric version, followed by petrol and
diesel variants. Let's take a look at the possible details.
Tata Sierra Design
The Tata Sierra was showcased at the India Mobility Global Expo 2025. Its
design combines nostalgia from the old model with a modern touch. Its bold and
attractive look makes it a strong contender in the mid-size SUV segment. The
Sierra will appeal to its 30-year-old, multi-generational customer base.
Equipped with Advanced Features
The
Tata Sierra will include
many advanced and premium features. Reports suggest its interior may have a
triple-screen setup, including a central infotainment touchscreen, a
passenger-side display, and a digital instrument cluster. Additionally,
features like a four-spoke steering wheel, horizontal AC vents, and a panoramic
glass roof are expected. For safety, it may offer multiple airbags, Advanced
Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, traction
control, and hill-hold assist.
Powertrain and Specifications
Talking about the Sierra EV, it is being developed on Tata’s Acti.EV
architecture. It is expected to come with a 60-62 kWh battery
pack, offering a real-world range of over 500 km. The
EV will be available in both single and dual motor setups,
with options for front-wheel-drive (FWD) and all-wheel-drive
(AWD) configurations.
As for the Tata Sierra ICE (internal combustion engine) variants,
it may come with options for a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine
and a 2.0-liter diesel engine. This model will also support all-wheel-drive
(AWD) technology, which will provide better grip and control on rough
terrains. However, Tata Motors has not yet officially disclosed details about
the powertrain setup.
Expected Price
The Tata Sierra is expected to be priced between ₹20 lakh to ₹25 lakh.
In its segment, it will compete with cars like the
Hyundai Creta, Kia
Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
