Petrol MT and AMT versions of the facelifted
Glanza cost up to Rs 1 lakh more than the outgoing model, and the CNG MT is up
to Rs 27,000 dearer. The Toyota Glanza facelift continues to compete with the
recently updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno (Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh), Hyundai
i20 (Rs 6 lakh to Rs 11.64 lakh) and Tata Altroz (Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10.90 lakh).
Toyota Glanza Facelift - Engine & Gearbox: The Toyota Glanza facelift now runs a Z12E 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated
engine seen in the facelifted Baleno, which replaces the earlier 4-cylinder
unit. In petrol mode, it makes 83hp and 112Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual or a
5-speed AMT.
Output is 7hp and 1Nm below the outgoing engine,
but claimed efficiency improves to 23.80kpl with the MT, up from 22.35kpl. The
AMT returns 24.77kpl against 22.94kpl earlier, and the petrol engine gets idle
start/stop. In CNG mode, the same engine makes 70hp and 102Nm, with a 5-speed MT
and a new 5-speed AMT. That is 7hp less but 4.5Nm more than the outgoing unit.
Claimed CNG mileage rises to 33.61km/kg with the MT from 30.61km/kg, while the
new AMT is rated at 34.47km/kg.
A larger grille with satin trims on both sides now sits up front,
along with a radar module that enables the ADAS features. The Toyota Glanza facelift carries over the previous version's headlights, but the LED fog lamps
are redesigned, and the Toyota logo moves to the plastic trim below the bonnet.
