Japanese carmaker
Toyota has revised the prices of the Urban Cruiser Taisor, with select variants
seeing a hike of up to ₹ 24,000. The revision is part of a wider price update
from Toyota that also cove₹ the Innova Hycross, Fortuner, Innova Crysta, and
Fortuner Legender.
With the revision, the Toyota Urban Cruiser
Taisor's price range now runs from ₹ 7.25 lakh to ₹ 12.63 lakh (ex-showroom),
with the entry-level price holding steady.

The biggest jump in prices for the Urban Cruiser
Taisor is on the top-spec V 1.0 turbo-petrol AT and V 1.0 turbo-petrol AT
dual-tone variants, each of which now costs ₹ 24,000 more than before. The G
1.0 turbo-petrol AT follows close behind with a ₹ 22,000 increase, while the V
1.0 turbo-petrol MT, V 1.0 turbo-petrol MT dual-tone, and G 1.0 turbo-petrol MT
variants have gone up by ₹ 20,000 each. Prices for the remaining variants in
the lineup are unchanged.
The affected variants
of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taiso all use the 1.0-litre three-cylinder
turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 100PS and 148Nm of torque. This
engine is offered with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter
automatic gearbox. The base variants of the Taisor, which are not part of this
price hike, are powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine making
90PS and 113Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. On the features
front, the top-spec V variant gets the most comprehensive kit, including a
9-inch Smartplay Cast touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay,
a head-up display, a 360-degree view camera, wireless charging, cruise control,
Toyota iConnect connected car tech with smartwatch compatibility, and a
6-airbag setup as standard. The G variant steps down to a 7-inch infotainment
unit but retains the wireless smartphone connectivity, rear AC vents,
push-button start, and a wireless charger. Across the range, the Taisor comes
with automatic climate control, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, a flat-bottom
steering wheel, Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD, and
rear parking senso₹ with an infographic display. The top V trim also adds
machined alloy wheels, UV-cut window glass, an auto-dimming inside rearview
mirror, and connected LED rear combination lamps with a centre light bar. The
Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor is essentially a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Fronx and
competes in the subcompact SUV segment against rivals like the Hyundai Venue,
Kia Sonet, and Tata Nexon.
