The new Tata Sierra is once again in the spotlight. Recently, the SUV delivered an impressive performance in the Bharat NCAP crash test, securing a 5-star safety rating in both Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP).  The Sierra scored 31.14 out of 32 in AOP and 44.73 out of 49 in COP, making it one of the safest SUVs in its segment. In the Indian market, it directly competes with the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

Strong Performance in Crash Tests

During crash testing, the Tata Sierra showcased excellent structural integrity. The body structure remained stable in both frontal-offset and side impact tests.

In terms of safety features, the SUV comes equipped with:

  • ABS with EBD
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  • ISOFIX child seat mounts
  • 360-degree camera
  • Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

Tata Sierra Price in India

The Tata Sierra is priced between:

  • ₹11.49 lakh to ₹21.29 lakh (ex-showroom)
  • ₹13.30 lakh to ₹25.08 lakh (on-road, Delhi approx.)

Engine and Performance

The Tata Sierra comes with three new 1.5-litre engine options:

  • Revotron NA Petrol: 106 PS power, 145 Nm torque
  • Hyperion TGDi Turbo Petrol: 160 PS power, 255 Nm torque
  • Kryojet Turbo Diesel: 116–118 PS power, 260–280 Nm torque

The Tata Sierra offers impressive fuel efficiency in its segment. As per ARAI figures, the petrol variants deliver around 16–18 km/l, while the diesel variants offer approximately 18–20 km/l. In real-world driving conditions, users can expect around 13–15 km/l in the city and 17–19 km/l on highways, making it a practical choice for both daily use and long drives.

The Tata Sierra is powered by multiple 1.5-litre engine options. The Revotron petrol engine produces 106 PS power and 145 Nm torque with a mileage of 18.2 km/l. The more powerful Hyperion turbo petrol engine generates 160 PS and 255 Nm torque, delivering a mileage of 16.8 km/l. On the diesel side, the Kryojet engine (manual) produces 118 PS and 260 Nm torque with an ARAI mileage of 20.5 km/l, while the automatic variant offers 280 Nm torque and delivers around 19.3 km/l.

In terms of features, the Tata Sierra comes equipped with a modern triple-screen setup, a premium 12-speaker JBL sound system with a soundbar, a panoramic sunroof, and a HypAR head-up display. It also includes a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, and an advanced L2+ ADAS suite with 22 intelligent features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking. Even the base variant offers essential features like an 8-speaker system, automatic climate control, and a multi-function steering wheel.

When it comes to safety, the Tata Sierra stands out with strong equipment and build quality. It comes with 6 airbags as standard, along with ESP featuring 21 smart functions, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and front and rear disc brakes.
