Honda Cars is set to
launch the updated Honda City facelift along with the more premium Honda ZR-V
hybrid in India on May 22, 2026. The updates to the City will be minor, mainly
focusing on exterior and interior changes.
Honda City Facelift To Launch on May 22.
The
Japanese automaker will introduce the updated City facelift, marking the first
major update for the fifth-generation model since its launch. These updates are
expected to be largely cosmetic, focusing on styling and features.

Selling in a less competitive mid-size sedan
segment, the Honda City is one of the oldest and most established models. It
rivals cars like the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Hyundai Verna.
However, over the years, the City has often been perceived as slightly dated,
primarily due to offering fewer features and options compared to its newer,
more tech-loaded rivals. The 2026 Honda City is expected to follow a refreshed
design language with subtle styling changes at the front and rear. The overall
silhouette will remain largely unchanged, but it is likely to get updated alloy
wheels.
The facelift will also bring feature enhancements
to stay competitive. Expected additions include a new digital instrument
cluster, updated user interface, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a
360-degree camera, enhanced ADAS functions with additional safety features,
ventilated front seats, and powered driver seats. The City facelift is likely
to continue with the same 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine producing 121 PS of power
and 145 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox.
A hybrid powertrain option is also expected to be offered. The Honda City is
currently priced from ₹12.07 lakh (ex-showroom).
Honda ZR-V India Launch
Alongside the City
facelift, Honda is also expected to introduce the Honda ZR-V in India. This
premium SUV will likely be powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder hybrid powertrain and
could be priced around ₹40 lakh (ex-showroom). The ZR-V is expected to be
brought in as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) and will compete with models like
the Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq. It will be sold in the premium SUV
segment.
