Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) continues to solidify its position in the Indian market,
and the company maintained this momentum last month as well. Presenting its
June 2025 sales report, Toyota revealed that its sales in the Indian market
have increased by 5% year-on-year. Let’s take a look at how many customers
Toyota attracted last month.
Toyota’s Sales Surge
In June 2025,
Toyota sold a total of 28,869 units, with 26,453 units sold in the domestic market and 2,416 units exported to
international markets. Compared to 27,474 units in June 2024, this
represents a 5% year-on-year growth.

H1 2025 Performance
Between January
and June 2025 (H1 2025), Toyota recorded a combined domestic sales and export
figure of 1,74,885 units, marking a remarkable 16% growth
compared to 1,50,250 units in H1 2024. This robust performance is
attributed to the growing demand for the company's hybrid vehicles and
its customer-centric strategies.
Hybrid Cars Driving Growth
Popular Toyota
models, such as the Innova Hycross, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and Fortuner, played a significant role in this growth. The Innova Hycross, with its
hybrid technology, has seen strong demand even in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. By
May 2025, the Hycross had already crossed the milestone of 100,000 units
sold.
These numbers underscore Toyota’s strong presence in the Indian market, driven by innovation, hybrid technology, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
The Urban Cruiser Hyryder registered a record monthly sale of 7,573
units in May, a 94% year-on-year increase. In June,
Toyota launched the Fortuner and Legender in their new “Neo Drive” avatars,
both equipped with a 48-volt hybrid system that delivers improved efficiency
and a richer driving experience.
The company’s rebadged models have also made a significant contribution.
Vehicles such as the Glanza, Rumion, and Urban Cruiser Taser together accounted
for 53% of TKM’s total sales in FY2025. The Glanza alone hit
the milestone of 200,000 units sold in January 2025.
To enhance customer convenience, Toyota has expanded its dealership and
service network to 1,110 touchpoints across India. Looking
ahead, Toyota Kirloskar Motor plans to launch its first electric car in the
Indian market, likely badged as the Urban Cruiser BEV. Based on
the Maruti e-Vitarra rebadge, this EV is expected to offer a range of over 500 km, along with a host of advanced features.
