India’s Top 5 Cars in May 2025: Dzire Tops the Chart

The Indian car market is continuously improving. As usual, last month also saw a lot of excitement in the market. On one hand, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire remained the country’s best-selling car, while sales of the Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon also increased. Let’s take a look at the top 5 cars of May 2025.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire

Dzire holds the number one position in terms of sales. Last month, this premium sedan gained a total of 18,084 new customers. This figure represents a 13 percent increase compared to the 16,061 units of Maruti Dzire sold in May 2024.

This is Maruti’s only 5-star safety-rated car with a starting ex-showroom price of ₹6.84 lakh. Customers can buy it with features like a 9-inch infotainment system, single-pane sunroof, wireless charger, cruise control, and a 360-degree surround camera, along with a maximum mileage of 33.73 km/kg.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

In the second position on the list is the Ertiga. Last month, this 7-seater MPV attracted a total of 16,140 new customers. This figure represents a 16 percent increase compared to the 13,893 units sold in May 2024.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza

Brezza ranked third in terms of sales and also saw a slight increase in sales. Last month, it gained a total of 15,566 new customers. This figure represents a 10 percent increase in sales compared to the 14,186 units sold in May 2024.

Hyundai Creta

Creta holds the fourth position. Last month, a total of 14,860 units were sold. This figure shows a marginal increase of just 1 percent compared to the 14,662 units sold in May 2024.

Mahindra Scorpio

Due to a slight increase in sales numbers, Scorpio managed to secure its place in the top 5 cars of May 2025. Last month, it gained a total of 14,401 new customers. This figure represents a 5 percent increase compared to the 13,717 units sold in May 2024.

Apart from the top 5 cars mentioned above, last month Maruti Suzuki Swift sold a total of 14,135 units, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R sold 13,949 units, Maruti Suzuki Fronx sold 13,584 units, Tata Punch sold 13,133 units, and Tata Nexon sold 13,096 units.
