To strengthen its hold in the Indian market, Maruti Suzuki is continuously introducing new cars. One of the upcoming models on its launch list is the Grand Vitara 7-Seater. This SUV, being developed under the codename Y17, will be manufactured at Maruti’s new plant in Kharhkoda, Haryana. Recently, spy images of the model being tested have surfaced, indicating that its launch is near. Let’s take a look at the expected price, design, interior, features, safety, powertrain, and mileage details of the upcoming Maruti Grand Vitara 7-Seater.
Launch Date and Expected Price
The Maruti Grand Vitara 7-Seater is likely to be launched in early 2026. In terms of pricing, it will be slightly costlier than the existing 5-seater Grand Vitara. The expected ex-showroom price is likely to start around ₹14 lakh and go up to ₹20–25 lakh, depending on the variant.
Design Details
The exterior design will carry forward the styling language of the 5-seater Grand Vitara, but with a longer wheelbase (around 2,600 mm) and overall length (more than 4,345 mm) to accommodate the third row of seats. At the front, a new grille design with chrome accents is expected, giving the SUV a bolder and more premium look. The side profile will feature roof rails, larger 17–18-inch alloy wheels, and aggressive wheel arches, enhancing its rugged SUV appeal. At the rear, the 7-seater is expected to sport connected LED taillights, a new bumper design, and a shark-fin antenna.
Interior and Features
Inside, the SUV will get a third row with two additional foldable seats, which can be folded down to expand the boot space to around 400–500 liters. The dashboard design will be refreshed and may feature a freestanding 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Premium touches like ambient lighting, a dual-tone interior theme (beige or brown), and leatherette upholstery will give the cabin a more upmarket feel.
The front seats are expected to be power-adjustable, while the second row could come with an optional captain seat layout. The third row will be designed to offer decent headroom and legroom for passengers.
Key feature highlights may include
- 360-degree parking camera
- Ventilated front seats
- Push-button start
- Keyless entry
- Panoramic sunroof
For safety, the SUV is expected to come equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), six airbags (front, side, and curtain), and safety systems like ESP, ABS, and EBD.
