The iconic British
hatchback brand Mini has officially opened bookings for the exclusive Mini
Cooper S GP Inspired Edition in India. Limited to just 30 units nationwide,
this collector-focused edition is designed for enthusiasts who want a more
unique and motorsport-inspired version of the standard Cooper S.
Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition
Based on the
Mini Cooper S equipped with the John Cooper Works (JCW) Pack, the GP Inspired
Edition pays tribute to Mini's rich racing heritage. Unlike typical cosmetic
special editions, this model has been designed to reflect the brand's
performance-oriented DNA while retaining the everyday usability.

One of the biggest highlights of this edition is
its exclusive Legend Grey exterior shade, a colour that will remain unique to
this variant in the Indian market. The stealthy finish is complemented by
several JCW-inspired design elements, giving the hatchback a far more
aggressive and sporty.
Powertrain
Under the hood, the Mini Cooper S GP Inspired
Edition continues with BMW Group's proven 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol
engine. This B48 motor produces 201 bhp and 300 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed
dual-clutch automatic transmission with FWD. Mini claims a 0-100 kmph sprint
time of approximately 6.6 seconds, making it one of the more engaging premium
hatchbacks currently on sale in India.
The Cooper S has always been appreciated for its
sharp handling, compact dimensions, and go-kart-like driving dynamics. The GP
Inspired Edition further enhances that appeal by adding exclusivity and a
stronger emotional connection for enthusiasts. Mini currently operates through 12
dealerships across key Indian cities, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru,
Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Jaipur, and Jodhpur.
Service and after-sales support are backed by BMW Group India's wider network
spread across 36 cities.
Pricing and Launch
With only 30 units allocated
for the Indian market, the Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition is expected to
attract serious collectors and Mini enthusiasts alike. Deliveries of the
limited-edition hatchback are scheduled to commence later this month. While
official pricing is yet to be announced, it is expected to command a premium
over the standard Cooper S with the JCW Pack, which is currently priced at
₹61.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
