Skoda India will open
bookings for the Kodiaq RS on June 22, ahead of a formal launch in the coming
weeks. The performance SUV marks the first time the Czech brand's RS badge has
been applied to an SUV in India, arriving as a full import with only 50 units
allocated in the opening batch.
The Skoda Kodiaq RS timing carries added
significance for Skoda, with 2026 marking both the 125th year of the brand's
motorsport heritage and the 50th anniversary of the RS name. The Skoda Kodiaq RS will be the fastest Skoda ever sold in India, outpacing even the Octavia RS.

Skoda Kodiaq RS India Bookings Open - The Hardware
That Matters & All-Black Interior
The Skoda Kodiaq RS draws power from a
2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 265hp and 400Nm of torque. That is an
increase of 60hp and 80 N · m over the standard Kodiaq, and the engine runs in the
same state of tune as found in the Octavia RS and Volkswagen Golf GTI. Drive
goes through a 7-speed DCT gearbox to an all-wheel drive system as standard
across the range.
Braking hardware receives a notable upgrade on the
RS, with slotted brake discs and two-piston calipers fitted at the front axle.
Whether adaptive suspension from international versions of the Kodiaq RS will
be offered in India has not been confirmed. Visual changes over the standard Kodiaq
include sportier front and rear bumpers, blacked-out exterior elements, and
20-inch alloy wheels. Red brake calipers are standard, reinforcing the
performance identity. The cabin retains the
standard Kodiaq's dashboard layout but adopts a full black interior finish with
contrasting red stitching throughout. Sportier bucket seats with RS-branded
integrated headrests replace the standard chairs.
As a full import, the
Skoda Kodiaq RS is expected to carry a price in the range of Rs 50-55 lakh
(ex-showroom). The standard Kodiaq is currently priced between Rs 36.99 lakh
and Rs 46.99 lakh. Commenting on the announcement, Ashish Gupta, Brand
Director, Škoda Auto India, said, "The RS badge carries over 50 years of
global performance legacy and a fiercely loyal following in India since the
Octavia RS arrived more than two decades ago. The latest Octavia RS, launched
last year, sold out in just 20 minutes, highlighting its cult status among
enthusiasts. Now, we're taking that legacy forward with the Kodiaq RS, our
first-ever seven-seater in India to wear the iconic RS badge and the quickest
Škoda yet in the country. It blends performance, space, and 4x4 capability into
a bold, unmistakable expression of our racing DNA."
