For people who are looking for an option between SUVs and sedans, hatchbacks often turn out to be the best choice. The demand for cars in this segment remains strong—and this was clearly visible last month. On one hand, the Maruti Suzuki Swift emerged as the best-selling car in the segment, while demand for the Maruti Suzuki WagonR and Maruti Suzuki Alto also increased. Let’s take a look at the top-selling cars in this segment.
Maruti Suzuki Swift
The first name on the list is the
Maruti Suzuki Swift. It attracted a total of 19,733 new buyers last month. Compared to the 14,737 units sold in November 2024, this reflects a 34% year-on-year increase in sales.
Maruti Suzuki WagonR
The second spot, in terms of sales, was taken by the WagonR. A total of 14,619 units were sold last month. Compared to the 13,982 units sold in November 2024, this indicates a 5% year-on-year growth.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno
In third place is the Baleno, which received 13,784 new customers last month. However, compared to the 16,293 units sold in November 2024, this shows a 15% year-on-year decline in sales.
Maruti Suzuki Alto
In fourth place on the list is the Maruti Suzuki Alto. A total of 10,600 units were sold last month. Compared to the 7,467 units sold in November 2024, this represents a 42% year-on-year growth.
Tata Tiago
In terms of sales, the Tata Tiago ranks next. This Indian hatchback attracted 5,988 new customers last month. Compared to the 5,319 units sold in November 2024, this marks a 13% year-on-year increase.
Apart from the top five hatchbacks mentioned above, last month, Toyota Glanza sold 5,032 units, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios sold 4,559 units,
Hyundai i20 sold 3,777 units, Tata Altroz sold 3,013 units, and Maruti Suzuki Ignis sold 2,316 units.
