Tata’s New SUV to Rival Nissan Magnite: Turbo Engine, ADAS & Sunroof – Expected Price

Tata Motors has officially revealed the 2026 Tata Punch ahead of its official launch. Having already established a strong presence in the micro-SUV segment, the Tata Punch is now set to become even more “punchy” with a refreshed design, new features, and a turbo engine. The new Tata Punch will be launched on 13 January 2026. The company has introduced several updates across design, safety, and technology, making the micro-SUV look more premium and modern than before. Let’s take a closer look at its specification details.

Design and Features

In terms of design, the 2026 Tata Punch Facelift gets a refreshed front look. It features sharper LED DRLs, an updated grille, and a new bumper design, giving the SUV a more muscular and aggressive appearance. The side profile comes with new alloy wheels, while the rear gets updated tail-lamps. Overall, the new Tata Punch looks bolder and is clearly designed to appeal to urban buyers. Tata Motors is also expected to introduce a few new colour options with the facelift.

Interior Updates

The interior of the Tata Punch 2026 is also expected to receive major upgrades. It may come with a dual-tone dashboard, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additionally, the new model is likely to offer advanced features such as a 360-degree camera and ADAS for improved safety and convenience.

Safety Features

Safety has been significantly enhanced in the Tata Punch 2026. The biggest highlight is the addition of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), which will be a segment-first feature. An ADAS radar module is positioned on the front lower grille. The Tata Punch already holds a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating, and the inclusion of ADAS further strengthens its safety credentials. Spy shots and teaser images show a front camera and ORVM-mounted cameras, indicating a 360-degree surround-view camera system. Additionally, six airbags will be offered as standard, making the new Punch one of the safest cars in its segment.

Engine and Performance

According to a report by Rushlane, the Tata Punch 2026 is likely to introduce a turbo petrol engine. The new Tata Punch i-Turbo will be powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, sourced from the Tata Altroz Racer. This engine is expected to produce around 110 PS of power and 140 Nm of torque, and will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The existing 1.2-litre Revotron naturally aspirated petrol and CNG engine options will continue to be offered alongside the turbo variant. In the market, the turbo version of the Tata Punch will compete directly with the Nissan Magnite.

Expected Price of Tata Punch Facelift

The 2026 Tata Punch Facelift is expected to be priced slightly higher than the current model. The estimated starting price is around ₹6 lakh (ex-showroom). After its launch on 13 January 2026, the complete price list and variant-wise details will be officially revealed. Bookings are expected to open only after the launch.
