Inster EV: Hyundai’s Affordable Rival to Tata Punch EV

To strengthen its position in the Indian market, Hyundai is planning to launch new electric cars in the coming years, including affordable models. The company is expected to introduce three new EVs by 2030. This lineup includes models like the Venue EV and Inster EV. Let’s take a look at these upcoming electric cars:

Hyundai Inster EV

At the top of the list is the Inster EV. While its launch may still be some time away, it has the potential to be a major player in the market. This electric model is expected to rival the Tata Punch EV directly.
In terms of dimensions, the Inster EV measures 3,825 mm in length, 1,610 mm in width, and 1,575 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,580 mm.
The estimated price of the Inster EV is around ₹10 lakh.

It may be offered with two battery options – a 42 kWh standard version and a 49 kWh long-range variant, delivering 97 bhp and 115 bhp of power, respectively. The expected driving range is up to 355 km (WLTP).
Notable features may include a 10.25-inch dual-screen setup, 360-degree camera, ADAS technology, automatic climate control, and 64-color ambient lighting.

Hyundai Venue EV

The Venue EV is expected to launch around 2026 or 2027. It will be one of Hyundai’s most affordable electric SUVs in India. This EV will compete with models like the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV.
It is likely to come with several new features, such as powered height-adjustable seats and advanced ADAS technology.

The claimed range is expected to be between 300–350 km, making it suitable for both urban and semi-urban use. Hyundai plans to offer this model at a competitive price with local production, aiming to position it as a strong player in the mass-market EV segment.

Hyundai Grand i10 EV

The Grand i10 EV will be another affordable electric hatchback, likely to launch by 2028 or 2029. In the market, it will compete with the Tata Tiago EV.
Although detailed specifications are not yet available, the model is expected to be as compact and practical as its ICE counterpart.
We’ll have to wait a bit longer for information regarding its features, battery, motor, and driving range.
