This electric SUV from Mahindra is coming to challenge the Tata Nexon

Understanding the growing demand for electric cars in the Indian market, Mahindra is preparing to launch its popular XUV 3XO in an electric avatar. The new Mahindra XUV 3XO EV has once again been spotted testing in Gujarat. In the domestic market, this sub-4-meter electric car will directly compete with the Tata Nexon EV. Let’s take a look at its design and specifications.

Mahindra XUV 3XO EV – Expected Design and Specifications
The design of the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is largely similar to its ICE (internal combustion engine) counterpart. However, it will be slightly smaller in size compared to the XUV400 and will be positioned below the BE6 in the company’s lineup.

According to reports, the cabin of the XUV 3XO EV will feature high-quality soft-touch plastic to make it feel more premium. Additionally, some new features are also expected to be added. Being an electric vehicle, it may get a charging flap at the front along with a new badge.

Expected Features and Safety
The features and safety suite of the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV are expected to be similar to its ICE version. The interior may include a 10.2-inch infotainment screen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, a panoramic sunroof, and safety features like 6 airbags, Level-2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and cruise control.

Battery and Range
The new Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is expected to feature the same battery packs as the XUV400. It may come with two options — the first being a 34.5 kWh battery, which could offer a range of up to 375 km on a single charge. The second option might be a 39.4 kWh battery pack, with an estimated range of 456 km. The XUV 3XO EV will likely use a single electric motor setup capable of generating 150 PS of power and 310 Nm of torque. The electric SUV is expected to be launched around the festive season.

Expected Price
The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV will be positioned below the BE6 in Mahindra’s lineup. Hence, its starting ex-showroom price is likely to be under ₹15 lakh. It will directly rival the Tata Nexon EV, which currently starts at ₹12.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
